What is True-Assets?

It's a one-click asset browser for Blender that should have been shipped with it in the first place! It automatically turns any blend file, a directory full of textures, and HDRI images into marked assets stored for future use in all your projects.

New Features:

AmbientCG Material and HDRI Library:

That's correct, their library of 1900+ Materials and HDRIs is available for you to download, use and re-use as much as you want directly from the Blender asset browser!

Along with this, we have a new feature called "quick-swap", which allows you to swap any object in the asset-browser, with the active selection in the viewport:

We've also fixed some issues with FBX support, auto-cataloging, and nested collections, and we've updated our materials, added a "standard" shader for those that want to customize their own materials, and introduced a "Switch Shader" function, so you can swap the active material shader from Uber/Standard/Organic/Plastic without needing to amend the blend files, or reimport the textures using the new material.

Other Features:

One-Click Material-Assets Creation:

Convert all your PBR textures from your hard drive into Materials in just ONE CLICK. Just select the directory where you have your textures, choose the catalog you want your materials to go into (optional), and click import. All materials will be saved to True-Asset's material category and will be available to use from any blend file.

True-Assets has multiple options for materials. It allows you to choose from 3 preset custom-made material types: Uber, Plastic, and Organic. Uber deals with everything else the other two don't (Woods, Metals, Rocks, etc).

One-Click World-Asset Creation:

Creating worlds will allow you to choose what file type you want True-Assets to create worlds from (EXR, HDR, JPG, etc). At the point of creation, worlds will be generated with a thumbnail image of the sky so you always know what one you're dropping into a scene.

World shaders also come with custom controls for things like; Colour manipulation, Light intensities, Cleaning up the horizon lines, Blurring the whole image, Vector controls, and more! Once dropped in your scene, controls are found in the World tab in Blender.

Batch Creating Assets from external blend files:

The obvious one!

Marking assets from another blend file without ever going into that blend file... Magic.
Just choose the asset types that you want to bring in; Meshes/Materials/Node Groups/Worlds/Blah Blah. Choose the icon type you want, then hit that blue button at the bottom! Boom, now you've got stuff from old files always available!!!

KitBash3d files are also supported. Just check 'Kitbash Assets' while importing and the addon will automatically join the meshes and mark them as asset.

Some other useful features that Blender's Asset manager lacks:

Rendered Thumbnails
Clearing Assets from external blend files right from the asset browser.
Re-rendering thumbnails for selected Assets.
Moving external assets to new catalogs without ever opening that blend file.
Delete Catalogs
Batch Rename and tags editing.
